" Hoppybikes" is the joint web site of George and Dave Hopwood, the Classic motorcycle specialists of East London and Kent.
The Hopwood family have been in the motorcycle trade in London since 1934, and have a tradition of high-quality workmanship in motorcycle engineering and repair.
Restoration and repair to those high standards are the force that drives and inspires the Hopwoods today; be they producing a small trials machine , a faithful old plodder, or a 1960's endurance racer of world-class pedigree.
Motorcycle competition has been the testing ground for their preparation and engineering skills for many years, on machines ranging from Ducati singles and Tiger Cubs through to BSA B.50s and full-blown Tridents at International level, and that hard-won knowledge is brought to bear upon every machine that passes through their hands.
" What we do "
Engine and gearbox overhauls; restoration of machines from almost any state of dereliction to "Show" or "Oily rag" condition ; repairs ; tuning ;race preparation to all competition levels ; and the creation of hand-built motorcycles to design, specification, or idea.

George is a leading Triumph Thruxton specialist and makes special parts for these very desirable bikes. From his early days of using a Thruxton for cafe racing on the A20 George progressed to proddie racing with the late Peter Butler. Their success is nowadays reflected in the quality of preparation coming from the Kent workshop.
Complete restorations, engine builds, and DIY supply is all available.
Thruxton parts are usually off the shelf and priced reasonably. Advice and quotations are free.
